The Steinfurth SmartCap is a miniaturized screw-on gauge used to measure the pressure and temperature of carbonated beverages. It provides highly accurate readings and can be used as a reference check against non-destructive Steinfurth products.

Reference device
The SmartCap serves as a reference device for our non-destructive CO2 measurement product line – the NICO and NICOlab. The SmartCap is designed for simultaneous application with the NICO and NICOlab so that the readings can be compared immediately after the measurement is finished. With the help of the included bottle thread adapters (PCO1810, PCO1881 and CSD26/22) the SmartCap can turn each of our customers’ packages into a test bottle for NICO and NICOlab. This way, all potential noise factors can be included in the test. We recommend reference testing of NICO measuring heads every six to twelve months.

The NICO and NICOlab’s advanced non-destructive technology provides non-parametric and drift-free CO2 measurements on arbitrary bottles without breaking or impacting on the beverage’s packaging. By providing in-situ reference readings for our customers’ packages, the SmartCap reinforces confidence in that high-end technology.
